step 1

Getting to Know You and Your Health

During the advanced testing phase we aim to explore the pathophysiology of the body well beyond what routine testing can offer. The more we know about your health history, lifestyle, genetics, and symptoms, the more we understand what makes you, you.

step 2

In-depth testing and analysis.

Comprehensive lab work and specialty testing like microbiome, food sensitivity, and cortisol testing give Parsley Doctors a deeper look at different aspects of your health, and uncover the cause of a persistent symptom.

step 3

Addressing health and nutrition.

Unlike conventional medicine which mostly treats your symptoms with pills (which later have their own side effects requiring more pills), functional medicine focuses on addressing your health with nutrition, diet and lifestyle, herbs, supplements and vitamins.

step 4

Personalized health plan.

A medical partnership is created with a goal of optimizing your health; not just treating your disease or symptom.  Many patients actually no longer need to take their medications, as the underlying problem(s) have been corrected using a functional medicine protocol.

Dr Denia Tapscott, MD

As a board-certified Internal Medicine Physician trained at Georgetown University’s School of Medicine, Dr. Tapscott has been practicing medicine over the last 19 years with a focus on bariatric and preventive medicine and more recently, functional medicine.

After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014, Dr. Tapscott was confronted with her own health challenges. She began to explore alternative approaches that could (1) answer the question, why and (2) help her begin the healing process.  Although she did not abandon conventional medicine entirely, she gained a greater appreciation for her condition by using functional medicine, and she continues to implement healthy living with her family.

Dr. Tapscott fully integrates this methodology into her current medical practice – providing personalized, predictive, participatory, and preventive care to her patients.
